Professor Philip Kalra

Consultant nephrologist, is lead of the renal research team at Salford Royal Hospital and is currently involved in the design and development of several national renal trials; he was co-originator and lead nephrologist for the ASTRAL trial. He is chair of the National Renal speciality group of the NIHR clinical trials network and holds several other National posts. He has played a significant role in amalgamating Cardio-Renal education and research within the UK.
